Starcon has been chosen by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) as a recipient of  the 2011 National Safety Merit Award, which recognizes companies that demonstrate a continued commitment to jobsite safety, and whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary by ABC. Starcon has a proven track record of outstanding safety performance. Just last March, the company received the National Safety Excellence Award at ABC's Excellence in Construction awards celebration.

The company has received this notice from ABC:

"On behalf of the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee, please allow me to congratulate you on your selection as a 2011 ABC National Safety Merit Award recipient! The Merit Award is the second-highest safety honor in the merit shop construction industry, recognizing superior long-term performance and dedication to jobsite safety. Your company is one of only 22 that have been judged by a panel of industry safety experts to meet the stringent criteria associated with the ABC National Safety Merit Award."

The award will be presented to Starcon at the annual EIC banquet in Phoenix, Arizona in February. Associated Builders and Contractors is a national association with 75 chapters representing 23,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms with nearly two million employees. ABC's membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors of the industry.
