This year’s trip to the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National Craft Championships in Florida attracted a record 211 competitors from across the nation and culminated with Starcon bringing home two Silver Medals from our first ever entry into the team event (Jesse Thomas and Ronald Strednicky), one Bronze Medal in the insulation competition (Eric John) and a Best in Safety award from the pipe fitting competitors (Keith Phelan).
This year’s Starcon team has truly worked and practiced hard all year long, attending after-hours classes and on-the-job-training as much as possible, and qualifying through the local ABC event to have the opportunity to move on and compete at such a prestigious ABC National event. The individual contestants were in competition against apprentices representing top-notch construction companies from throughout the industry – and to achieve this year's medal and award tally on behalf of Starcon is truly an honorable accomplishment.
The team members were joined by some of the spouses who were able to support their husbands and to see firsthand the remarkable skills that their family members put into Starcon's work every day.
The Starcon training department is very pleased with the professionalism of the company's competitors, and is proud of their accomplishments. Starcon's trainers look forward to another great year in craft training and will be looking for those potential candidates to take to the 2017 National Craft Championships!
